There are three common driving methods for home elevators, screw type, hydraulic type, and traction elevator. Many consumers will ask which driving mode is safe and reliable? In fact, considering the basic safety performance, there are three driving methods. The safety performance of the elevators is not bad, otherwise many manufacturers have already closed down. But when we choose, we always need to compare and optimize, choose a manufacturer with high cost performance, easy maintenance, easy installation, and good after-sales service. Below we will introduce the difference between screw type, hydraulic type, and traction elevator from the driving mode to the simple one?
1. Drive mode one: screw elevator

The principle of the screw elevator is to rely on the screw driven elevator, and the motor drives the nut to move up and down on the screw to drive the car up and down.

Advantages: high safety and reliability, low hoistway requirements, small size covering an area of less than 1m², installation pit requirements of 50-70 (mm), powerful brands can even be installed directly on the ground, saving civil construction troubles.

Disadvantages: For example, the lifting height is limited, the current maximum lifting height can be increased to 6 layers.

2. Drive mode two: hydraulic elevator

The principle of a hydraulic elevator is an elevator that relies on hydraulic drive. Through a hydraulic power source, oil is pressed into the cylinder to make the plunger move in a straight line, and the elevator car is moved directly or indirectly through a wire rope.

Advantages: The hoistway occupies space and pit depth requirements are slightly lower than traction.

Disadvantages: Affected by the temperature, the hydraulic oil expands and contracts with heat, which easily affects the comfort of operation. Of course, with the development of technology, many powerful big brands can well improve these shortcomings, but we still need to understand and ask clearly when buying.

3. Drive mode 3: Traction elevator

The principle of the traction elevator is to rely on the elevator driven by the traction machine. When the traction machine rotates, the friction force between the steel wire rope and the sheave generates the traction force to drive the car up and down. At present, it is divided into traction gantry elevator, traction backpack elevator and traction strong drive elevator.

Advantages: affordable, wide application, fast

Disadvantages: Due to its driving principle, it requires a lot of hoistway, and the floor space is relatively large. If there is an elevator hoistway and the space is relatively large, then you can choose a traction elevator.

The above is a brief introduction to elevators with three drive modes: screw, hydraulic and traction. Elevators with different drive modes have their own advantages and disadvantages.
