What are the classifications of escalators
1. Classification by armrest decoration
1) Fully transparent type: refers to the escalator made of fully transparent glass for the handrail baseboard, which can be further divided into curved glass type and flat glass type according to the shape of the baseboard made of glass.
2) Opaque type: refers to the escalator whose handrail baseboard is made of opaque metal or other materials. Because the handrail bracket is fixed on the upper part of the baseboard, and the handrail moves cyclically on the rail of the handrail bracket, the stability of the opaque type is better than that of the fully transparent type. It is mainly used for escalators with high heights, such as subways, stations, docks, etc. where people are concentrated.
3) Translucent type: refers to the armrest baseboard that is translucent, such as the armrest baseboard made of translucent glass and other materials.
As far as handrail decoration is concerned, the fully transparent glass baseboard has a certain strength, and its thickness should not be less than 6mm. In addition, the fully transparent glass baseboard has a better decorative effect, so the baseboard is made of flat transparent glass. Escalator is the vast majority.
2. Classification by step drive
1) Chain type: refers to the escalator whose components driving the steps are chains.
2) Rack type: refers to the escalator in which the components driving the steps are racks.
Because the chain-driven structure is simple and the manufacturing cost is low, most escalators adopt the chain-driven structure.
3. Classification by lifting height
1) Small lifting height escalator: the lifting height is 3～10m;
2) Escalator with medium lifting height: the lifting height is 10-45m;
3) Escalator with large lifting height: lifting height of 45-65m
